This is a brand new range of books and they are perfect for revision before the exam. Each A4 photocopiable book contains 10 essays. The essays are all centred around Bronte and will be written from the perspectives of directors, designers and performers. They would serve as great extra reading, perhaps as a homework, or would form the basis of a revision lesson.
The essays cover a range of topics such as: women and how they are connected to the theme of madness, the role of Branwell and how to approach the idea that he is the 'over-shadowed' brother, staging the motif of birds within the play and its significance, how to approach and stage the theme of religion for a contemporary audience, approaching the important design aspects in the play such as the moorland setting or the claustrophobia of the house, interpretations and performance ideas for Anne, Charlotte and Emily, staging and understanding the theme of writing, using design aspects to convey messages about internal and external realities.
